Elonda Clay Awarded Fund for Theological Education Grant
Religion
and science student Elonda Clay received a supplemental doctoral
grant from the Fund for Theological Education and a Women of Color
Scholarship from the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry
of the United Methodist Church. The award will support Clay's academic
study in the 2007-08 school year.
Clay is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago's Theology/Science and Religion program and a member of the Hyde Park Religion and Science Society. She holds a master's degree in information science from University of Missouri, a Master of Divinity degree in theology from the Interdenominational Theological Center, and a bachelor's degree in Physical Science from Kansas State University. Her research examines the use of technology in social activism and in the Church. She has published “Technologies for Worship,” in Africana Worship Book (2007), and has presented her work at church and academic conferences.
The Fund for Theological Education advocates excellence and diversity in pastoral ministry and theological scholarship. Among FTE current donors are Lilly Endowment Inc., The Arthur Vining Davis Foundation, The Henry Luce Foundation, and The William Randolph Hearst Foundation.
