Please join us for a lecture and discussion by guest speaker Dr. Philip Hefner:
Design Passes Through the Human Mind
Lecture topic: On planet Earth, the design of the creation passes through human intentionality. This carries with it several important implications: (1) The design enters into consciousness. (2) The fallibility of the human mind becomes a factor. (3) Constructivism is a challenge, because the design is not obvious–it must be discerned and constructed. (4) Design points to project: What is the human project? What is the project of creation? Our intentional behaviors, including our ideas of transhumanism, aim at actualizing this project. (5) These considerations are at the heart of the idea that humans are created co-creators. Evolutionary design thus expresses itself as an anthropology–a concept of human beings and their purposes.
